Cultural Attractions Of Australia Announces Two New Experiences

Cultural Attractions of Australia has announced two brand new experiences to their portfolio, offered by two of its members. The Art Gallery of New South Wales has introduced Become the Artist, which includes a drawing class in the gallery’s Grand Courts, while the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) now offers a private walkthrough of the Australian Sports Museum with a knowledgeable museum team member on its exclusive Keepers’ Collection Tour.

A collective of 17 leading cultural, historic and sporting attractions across the country, Cultural Attractions of Australia (CAOA) now offers in excess of 30 curated experiences. These VIP, behind-the-scenes pre-bookable experiences have been designed for travellers who are looking for meaningful and authentic experiences, and are an ideal way for visitors to immerse themselves in Australian culture. 

Become the Artist is a 3.5 hour experience, where guests enjoy a private tour of the Gallery, hearing about the art, architecture, people and history, before a three-course lunch featuring Australian ingredients and matched wines in the Gallery restaurant. Post-lunch it’s time for a drawing class in the Grand Courts, surrounded by inspiring artworks and facilitated by some of the talented artist community. Starting at A$990 per person, it can be elevated with an optional guided tour led by drag queen and cultural connoisseur, Verushka Darling, providing an unexpected perspective on select artworks. 

Become the Artist joins other CAOA at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, including A Night at the Gallery and The Yiribana Experience – both celebrate First Nations’ art, creativity, culture and food. 

Meanwhile, sports fans can unlock the secrets of the Australian Sports Museum Collections at the MCG with an exclusive behind-the-scenes guided walkthrough on the Keepers’ Collection Tour.

This experience is an intimate encounter with over 25,000 sporting treasures dating back to the 1800s, including trophies, uniforms, artwork and sporting equipment. The 45-minute tour costs A$175 per person and joins a variety of premium all-access tours available at the MCG, alongside the Australian Sports Museum.

Cultural Attractions of Australia (CAOA) provides a single point of contact for travel trade. The curated experiences offered through the collective are pre-bookable and fully commissionable to trade. CAOA has a dedicated trade website where rates and images can be accessed. While CAOA works as a collective, each attraction will need to be contacted to obtain net rates, reservation details, booking and payment conditions.
