ABOUT
History that moves you.
The West Coast Wilderness Railway is a heritage and cultural experience that traverses some of Tasmania’s most rugged and remote wilderness. Operating from Queenstown and Strahan, this restored steam & diesel railway follows the original 1890s line built to transport copper from the mines of Queenstown to the port at Strahan. It features the unique Abt rack-and-pinion system, one of the few of its kind still operating today.
