A rockstar afternoon and evening of food, fun and filth.
Mona has more of world-famous light artist James Turrell’s works than pretty much anyone south of the equator.
The good news for you is you’ll need to stay overnight in one of Mona’s Luxury Pavilions to experience them all. With this package you’ll enjoy exclusive access to all the Turrell artworks, as well as some hard-core Turrell knowledge from one of Mona’s expert art invigilators. For example, did you know James Turrell introduced David Walsh to his future wife (in the artist’s private volcano if you believe the rumours)?
Also included is a gourmet matched food and wine experience in the Faro Restaurant—nestled amongst the Turrells in the Pharos wing. And, of course, you’ll be treated to sparkling wine and oysters beneath the sunset-activated Amarna. Then it’s off to your luxury Mona Pavilion on the banks of the River Derwent for God knows what.
One night’s accommodation in a Mona Pavilion, ferry tickets (with Posh Pit upgrade), museum entry, exclusive access to Turrell artworks (Unseen/seen, Event Horizon, Weight of Darkness, Beside myself and Amarna), expert Turrell talk; sunset sparkling wine and oysters, Faro dinner degustation and wine matching. Plus breakfast at the Source Restaurant.
